Sunday

I love Sundays. It is the only day that both Matt and I have free from work. Matt works nights and I work during the day so we only see each other Thursday nights, during the day Saturday, and Sundays. The weather was beautiful so we opened the windows and cleaned our little bungalow.

Yesterday afternoon I made this Sopapilla Cheesecake. I can't get enough of it. So tasty! I didn't need to grease the pan though and we added a ton of cinnamon sugar mix on top. Dogen kept me company and tried to eat the crescent rolls.

We made a pizza for dinner using my friend Lyndi’s pizza dough recipe. If you like crispy pizza this would be the dough for you! I was thinking it might make a good cracker, perhaps with some hummus on it.

We'll be looking forward to another nice Sunday!

Heartbreaker

Yesterday morning was quite gloomy so I decided to watch some Netflix and I discovered a French romantic-comedy. I’ve only ever seen foreign dramas and this movie was excellent. Heartbreaker had me laughing within the first five minutes and throughout the entire film. The actors Romain Duris, Vanessa Paradis, Julie Ferrier, and Francois Damiens have great chemistry.

Vanessa Paradis had me wondering what it would be like if I never had braces. I had such a gap because I sucked my thumb as a child. Paradis is absolutely beautiful.

Hello there!

I have been debating on becoming a blogger for quite some time. Without a computer or internet I put it off for over a year and a half. Now that I have both I have decided to just say yes to the idea.

Over four and a half years ago I moved away from all of my family and friends to go to school. This is the biggest reason for my starting a blog as I am more apt to write a post than to check my Facebook everyday. By writing every day I hope that my family can stay in touch with what is going on in my life as I live no where near them. This is a blog meant to share, with anyone interested, what is going on in my life.

I recently graduated from Missouri State University with a degree in Art Education and am currently seeking a job. To tide me over I have been working as a substitute teacher and am looking for a part time job on top of that. While I'm not substitute teaching I'm being creative or dreaming about the future. Something I desperately need to work on: focus on the present!

Smith and Hamilton is the title of my blog because Mr. Matthew Hamilton is a big part of this life I will be sharing with you. Matt and I met one year and eight months ago at his house party and have been stuck like glue. He is a farmer, musician, and artist and quite handsome. And I introduce you with an outdated photo...

When Matt and I moved in together he brought along his other Lady. She is the kind of attention whore you can't help but love.

And this is Dogen. Abandoned by the previous renters of our bungalow he adopted us as his family pretty quickly. Anyone who has met him proclaims he is the coolest cat.

Matthew, Lady, and Dogen have become my family here in Springfield, Missouri and this is our story...
